Time with Jesus: Luke 8:26-39
A Series on the Life of Christ According to Luke
When we walk with Jesus we will sometimes be met by spiritual forces, even demonic forces, who would work against us because we are seeking to do the will of God. The demons in the man of Gerasenes feared Jesus, but they will not fear us. We do not have any power over spiritual forces other than what God grants us through Jesus and the Holy Spirit. If we try to fight against the forces of the even one—whether demon or sin—in our own power we will fail. Sometimes it will even feel as if evil is mocking us. But God is not mocked.
When we walk with Jesus we must remember that he has all power and that the forces that rise against us, whether demons or sins, whether human or spiritual, it is in the power of Jesus name that we are assured victory—not in our own name. So when we see broken or evil things in the world, there is no other name that has the authority to make things right but the name of Jesus. Why?
Because it is Jesus who is making all things new. Amen.

AMEN!
